Communities of Practice
The Skills for Life Improvement Programme Communities of
Practice is now hosted on the LSIS Excellence Gateway. You
can access it by clicking on the link Excellence
Gateway Workroom
Collaborative
Workrooms* have been set up on the Excellence
Gateway under the title of Skills for Life Improvement Programme.
Whilst other forums and workrooms exist and may be created, we
would prefer individuals involved on the Skills for Life
Improvement Programme to use the facility under the programme name.
It will help other colleagues to participate better by not having
to search in many different places on the Excellence Gateway.
How to access the Excellence Gateway forums
To use the Skills for Life Improvement Programme Collaborative
Workroom, every user will need to register and create username and
password. The instructions for registering are self explanatory and
detailed on the Excellence
Gateway Community page FAQ.
Once registered you can then join specific Workrooms (e.g. PDP,
Numeracy etc.) set up under Skills for Life Improvement Programme
(currently on page 2). The different workrooms are sorted
alphabetically.

*A Collaborative Workroom is a virtual
workroom, where you and your group can collaborate, taking part in
joint planning, file sharing and discussions in a strictly private
online space. The workroom also has “tools for collaboration” such
as discussion forum, shared
library and task setter for effective
collaboration and sharing of information.
